Find media sets by media server from Centraladmin server
Hi Tech Experts,
I have a strange problem with my backup solution and seeking help.I have a Backupexec 2010R2 central admin server with two other media servers in the same domain..
iam able to see all the media sets from my Centraladmin as well as media managed server for all the servers..
I have a lot of confusion while creating backup jobs as proper naming was not done.Iam afraid to delete the media sets as i have been running jobs for long time.I would like to sort out media sets per media server and delete unnecessary media sets..
I had removed the managed media server from both the managed servers but still iam able to see the media sets which were created on my centraladmin.
Pls help me with a possible solution.
Early help is appreciated..
Thanks in advance..

Hi,
I have that issue too. It seems to be a bit of bad code in the way that a CASO server handles information from media servers. When you remove the media server, it never removes the information of the media sets from the CASO, not other media server information from other media servers. It becomes a mess, but I suppose it is stored somewhere in the BEDB.
That said, go onto the affected media server and manually delete the entries you don't need. If you want confirmation on what media sets are used by a particular server, go into your jobs and check what media set they are pointing too...take note of what they are and you can delete the rest.
Cheers!
If you find this is a solution, please mark it as such.
