Biografie:

I began working with Enterprise Vault in April of 2004 when I started with KVS in Technical Support. Over the years I held various positions in KVS, Veritas, and Symantec. I have worked as Enterprise Vault Support Tech Lead, Backline Support, Consultant, and as a Regional Product Manager. I have experience working with complex Enterprise Vault installations both domestic and international.

Outside of using seperate account I think your best option is to use EVPM to putt a deny on all the archives for your admin users. You can find examples in the utilities guide.

Nope, there isn't an issue doing the backup without the agent.  Just create the backup scripts and plan out getting sql, storage, and indexes backedup at the same time and you will be good to go. Cheers,

Yes, your OWA users would need a shortcut or use ArchiveExplorer or Search.  If they are remote employees they could utilize Vault Cache and\or Virtual Vault.

It sounds like the OWA extensions may not have been configured or they were not configured successfully. Did you work through the Configuring OWA Access to Enterprise Vault section of the  Setting_up_Exchange_Archiving.pdg?
