Hi, Is there a way to disable multiple tasks (stored in different folders) in NS 6? Thanks in Advance for the help.

I have Windows 7 x64 clients that are shown vulnerable for MS13-047. The installation of "IE10-Windows6.1-KB2838727-x64.msu" fails with exit code 2359302. When I execute the patch manually it shows "already installed".   Am I the only one having this issue?

Something I've always found a bit odd is that the Advanced Incident form goes to the trouble of querying the SMP CMDB to get its information on the users phone number and address. Once it has this information it seems to do nothing with it.  On submitting a ticket the requestors details are not updated. I know the ServiceDesk user details are synced in from AD but wouldn't it make ...

I recently found a post for someone requesting how to inventory the output from running "netsh int tcp show chimneystats" (original post is here: http://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/custom-inve...) Since I've been working on learning powershell this would be a good learning opportunity. It actually turned out to be a bit less code then I thought, for the purpose of this article I'll ...

I noticed that this has not been added yet so in case anyone has questions about it, here it is. In ServiceDesk 7.5 by default there are no permissions added to the Process View page when the incident is created. It is required to set up the Automation Rule to set the required permissions. Go to Admin > Process Automation > Incident Management Service Dashboard. Click the lightning bolt icon ...

Symantec Deployment Solutions is dependent on the use of pre-boot operating systems in the management of workstation and server systems. The pre-boot environment is delivered to target workstation and server systems via network PXE servers or through the use of physical devices and media. This process has the potential for exposure to possible malicious activity from a person who may have ...

It is kind of funny how things change in the telecom and mobile world…   If I think back not so long ago, BlackBerry was in a position that seemed to be entrenched in the enterprise and all other phone manufacturers were scrambling to figure out what features made it compelling enough to move from consumer to enterprise.  We had several iterations of Windows Phones that all ...

In case distinguished names in your AD are very long, due to nested OU`s, SMP will cut it to 255 chars during AD import. This is limitation of database table. Herebelow is solution to this. I've spent the past few days working out a vb script to switch agents to another server.  I will not take credit for the last part of the script which forces the client to send basic inventory and update policies. I stole that part from a different forum and forgot where I got it from, so thank you to whomever created it. I was able to throw it all together and have been fairly ...

Don't know about anyone else but I hate it when you do certain updates and it disables your previously enabled policies.  Even performing a Database Repair seems to reset some things.  Also, didn't realize until today that I wasn't getting any new s/w bulletin e-mails after checking the availability of the latest Flash Player update where I found that the ...

Dear Symantec, Just like in other development tools (such as Visual Studio), you can set a breakpoint in the Workflow Designer when the process is debugged, then it stops and waits there. However, in Workflow Designer, you need to set up breakpoints EVERY TIME you switch on the debugger to debug to the same place, so because I create and debug a lot of Workflows and every time I get ...
