OPs Center 7.1 - receive no Alert Policies
Created: 12 Dec 2011 | 5 comments
Hi,
After update from OPs 7.0 to 7.1 i receive no more the alerts (Alert Policies) from Ops Server.
I observ also that the Ops Agent can be updated. Where i have to install the Ops Agent? on the Ops Server or on the Backup Server?
Thanks.

If you are just using NetBackup you shouldnt need an OpsCenter agent.
I have seen alerts either not work or dissapear all together after an upgrade - presumably the database rebuild looses something along the way.
I would disable one of your alerts and re-create it and see if the new one works
If it does then you may need ot recreate your alert policies
Obviously not great so you could raise a call with Symantec to see if there is a workaround

Having said that there are quite a few fixes for OpsCenter on 7.1.0.1 and 7.1.0.2 along with EEBs so you may just need some updates:

Now i observ that some "Alert Policies" are working. Like: Drive Down, Job Policy Change, Service Stopped, Master Server Unreachable.
but policies like Job Finalized, Media Suspended, Media Frozen, Catalog not Backed up are not working.
Ideas?

waiting the new OpsCenter 7.5 :)
the Symantec Support has no solution in my case. We have to wait the new OpsCenter Version. :)

I saw this on another customers site that it broke the alerts after an upgrade
They had to delete them all and recreate them - I think it is due to the additional tables in the OpsCenter database and the alerts do not get changed to reflect that
Have you tried creating a new one to see if it works?
