Sorry inn_kam. Your post of a zfs file system problem is associated with a restor time issue.  This thread involves a problem registering a client during a normal BMR enabled backup.  If the client was in a restoring phase, it obvioulsy was already properly registered.

Today I installed Symantec Endpoint Protection Client on my Backup Exec 2012 Server. After I did this the devices tab got stuck discovering devices and I couldn't format my tapes ready for the weekends backups. After I removed Symantec Endpoint Protection this problem went away. Is there any way to get Symantec Endpoint Protection to work on the same server as Backup Exec? Thanks

thanks Markus for pointing me here.. not sure how to  utilize this though... we are using the Altiris CMS to manage SSR and the VBS would require some real tuning to get all 10 sites with 20 current backup policies working via vbs... with 0 user input...   still going to take a look.. thanks for posting up!

Both beta's for Backup Exec 2012 and Backup Exec 2012R3 will protect 2012 Window Servers https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/blogs/announcing-new-beta-backup-exec  It is only the media server itself that is excluded from running on Windows 2012 server.

This issue is due to be addressed in forthcoming Backup Exec Service Pack, but a pre-release patch is available that has helped resolve this issue.
