Thank you for response, now I got basic understanding on AIR
I have another question, these days I am hearing much about OST/OST Device,What is this OST?
With my basic knowledge I understood that it is some thing related to storage technology,in our organization We are using 3 types of storage
1)San based
2)HP MDS6000 enclosures
3)Pure disk appliance, they say that they are using this PD apliance as OST device for other media server
Are all this 3 types are called OST?
What is criteria to call something OST?

Do we have to create storage server type as open storage to use OST?
We are using Hp MDS6000 enclosure as storage box for backups writing to MSDP and replicate data using AIR to another MDS6000.In this scenario is that storage box OST device?
You may have configured the Hp MDS6000 as MSDP (Media Server Dedupe) storage?
This is currently the only STU (apart from PureDisk) that is supported with AIR.
Supported OST devices are listed in the NetBackup 7 Hardware Compatibility List (HCL): http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH76495
Supporting Storage Foundation and VCS on Unix and Windows as well as NetBackup on Unix and Windows
Handy NBU Links
Yes, they have configured MDS6000 as MSDP storage.
MDS storage box has 120TB RAW ,they have raid10 on that and only 50TB is usable,30Tb they are using for dedupe and 5TB as advanced disk and rest is available
