Hi Marianne,                       Are the hostid in /etc/vx/volboot file same for two nodes (perhaps truncated and rendered same)? I've seen this happen on a private dg with nodes having the same (truncated) hostid on HPUX.

If the applications may not run at the same time, then you can put Mount and IPs in one service group and your 2 App in a service group each dependent on the Mount/IP group.  If both Apps normally start on the server, then you can put all the resources into one group and then you still have the option of manually offlining one (or both) of the application resources. Appologies for late reply and thanks for the follow up. What we do is we use Tivoli log adapters to monitor cluster for undesired events. With properly build regex's we are able to differ alerts to dfferent support groups which use different ticketing groups in our incident tracking systems, by filtering them by certain keywords in the names of resources and groups. Hi Ashfaq, Sorry for the long delay, I've been working elsewhere in Symantec. To answer your question -- yes, an existing VxFS file system can become a Veritas Cluster File System. The on-disk format does not in any way change, it is exactly the same. The difference is the product binaries, configuration, licenses and license keys.

In case # 04360304 we had a problem with DHC and DHC MAPS which not could be solved and there is no workaround.   We would like to be able to administer /switch off DHC/DHC MAP

Andrew, thanks for the post. As discussed, it is a valid concern to allow refreshing a snapshot from different source than current source. This facility was merely put for test purposes (refresh across different snapshot hierarchies) and shouldn't be a default behavior.
