Would like to have the ability to issue a "notification blackout" for Oracle's OEM product, prior to database resources going down.  The use of a "pre-offline type trigger" would be very beneficial, as this is needed per DB resource.  With OEM11, we used the Application Agent because each service group had an OEM agent that was able to be monitored by VCS. With OEM12c, we are going with one agent per physical host.  This approach is ...

Currently, the DNSAgent.pm module will allow a resource to update records or CNAMEs within it's local zone only.  The 'nsupdate' binary is fully compliant, but the DNS resource is limited. It would be desirable to update a local CNAME record as an alias for a higher level, or external zone, than the available domain.  The dynamic record would be changed in the authoritative zone for another outside of it's realm.  This ability to update would be very beneficial ...

The SambaServer Agent provided as bundled agent together with SF HA is not zone aware. That means when I configure the samba server process in a Solaris zone the SambaServer agent is not able to monitor it. I experimented with setting RunInContainer = 1 for SambaServer which however can't work as SambaServerAgent is not a Script Agent, but has monitoring built into the binary. So you can consider this an RFE to make the SambaServer and corresponding agents ...

Mount Agent improvement
Vladimir Kostornoy Partner Accredited Certified
“Hello! ...”
Hello! I would suggest to change the behavior of VCS Mount agent when unmounting filesystems on UNIX. Currently, during offline operation Mount agent: 1. verifies, that file system is mounted 2. tries to find processes that have open files from this particular file system (by running fuser command) 3. sends SIGTERM to the processes from step 2 4. tries to unmount filesystem ... If the system have a very large number of open files (hundreds of thousands), fuser command will take very ...
